How To Import Favorites From Edge To Chrome

If you have been looking for a way to import your favorites from Edge to Chrome, this guide will help you solve your trouble!

Having installed Windows 10, many users would have tested out the newest browser released from Microsoft, Edge. Internet Explorer back in the day was a total disaster and Microsoft has finally shut the project and come up with Edge. Edge is a much neater, fast and efficient browser to satisfy your daily browsing needs.

However, Edge could still use some maintenance work as it can still slow down when loading pages with heavy amounts of flashy content. It also does not support browser plugins yet, unlike its counterparts Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. This is why it is not common for users today to revert back to their old browsers.

Google Chrome is the most popular browser in terms of usage in the world today and it has shown many promising features throughout the years which has ultimately led to widespread user satisfaction. It is no wonder that people prefer using Google Chrome.

What if you used Edge for a while, saved some of your favourite websites on it but you decided to go back to Chrome? It is quite simple and straightforward and there is no requirement for you to manually bookmark the websites from Chrome all over again.

Let’s get started, shall we?

First off. press CTRL + R and paste the following into it, followed by clicking OK.

You have a directory open before you (Since I never used Edge to any degree, my directory only shows Links.) If you did use Edge, then you will see a folder named “Favorites” you have to open this folder, press CTRL + A followed by CTRL + C.

Now once again, Press CTRL + R and type the following line (if you copy the line, you will lose your previous clipboard entry for copying your favorites in the previous step), followed by OK:

%UserProfile%Favorites

Once the above path is open just press CTRL + V and your bookmarked content will now be in Internet Explorer.

The next step will tell you how to migrate the bookmarks from Internet Explorer, unto Chrome.

Now, you have to open Google Chrome. Once it is opened, click on the three horizontal lines on the top right corner.

Next, hover over to Bookmarks and select Import bookmarks and settings.

Next, in the from field, choose Microsoft Internet Explorer. Google Chrome has not yet made it

And now the process begins.

Microsoft Edge due to the fact that not every person in the world has upgraded to Windows 10 yet.

From here on, you can choose what you would like to import. You can import your browsing history, in case you want to search for links you have browsed on Edge, your favourites which was the original intention, saved passwords from various portals on the internet as well as your default search engine.

If your browsing history, favorites and password data is large, it may take some time to import from browser to browser. It is a simple, working method nonetheless!
