How To Fix Blurry Display in Windows 10

If you’re like me and feel like you’re seeing a blurry display in Windows 10, use this guide to find out if it’s your imagination or otherwise.

Whether you want to chalk it up to old age or dirty screen, there have been reports of people experiencing blurry display on their installations of Windows 10.

While we would like to blame technology for these “oversights”, this tweak will give you a definitive answer to whether you really are seeing this, or is Windows 10 genuinely appearing blurry for you from the get go.

Let’s get started, shall we?

To begin with, click on Cortana or the Search Box and type in “Control Panel“.

How to access the control panel

Once Control Panel is open, go into Appearance and Personalization.

Open up display settings

Next up, Open up Display.

How to adjust your display settings

Within Display, look for the following line or word, this is reported to be varying for different users, but for me, appeared as a blue line in the body saying “Set a custom scaling level” and for others might appear as “Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays

Here are the settings you need to adjust for blurred display

Basically, look for the word “scaling level” and access a dialog box that should appear below:

If you're % is above 100, you are facing a blurry display.

In the dialog box, if your setting is at 100%, then this is the normal value and means your installation of Windows 10 isn’t giving you a blurred display.

However, if your setting is anything above 100%,then you can truly blame Windows 10 for making you think you had vision troubles.

Once you alter the settings to 100%, click on OK, and Apply. This will prompt you to log out and log back in for the change to take effect. After the re-login, you will see the difference.

This is a surprising issue that has arisen and perhaps a first in the history of Windows OS. If you are still facing blurry text on Windows 10 despite the setting being there, it is recommended you look at your display settings to make sure your resolution is right.

You can do so by right clicking anywhere on the desktop, Display Settings, going on to Advanced display settings, and choosing your Recommended resolution.
