Ultralite Sports LLC of Colorado has come up with the lightest clipless bike pedal called Ultralite pedal system which clips onto the shoes. Weighing just 112 grams which is almost half the weight of other similar pedal systems in the market it has a one-piece spindle design with independent barrels to secure the cleat. The clipless bike pedal can be bolted to the bottom of bike shoes which are made from lightweight durable nylon and is apt for any kind of bike rider, be it pros to recreational ones. Made from anodized aluminum the pedals come in different models costing anywhere from $315 to $450 for a pair.
Unlike other similar products in the past, this one doesn’t require you to step down and press while listening for the snapping click rather it has spring loaded barrel which automatically holds the pedal in place once you slide the cleat in from the side.
