Thomas Heatherwick’s river boat design that folds back into itself

Thomas Heatherwick has a visionary design for the future trips on the rivers of France (in particular Loire river, between Nantes and Saint-Nazaire) as the riverboat moves swiftly on the serene waters revealing to the people onboard a spectacle of artworks. Yes you heard it right, artworks that will be there to take you by surprise and enjoy the beauty of nature coupled up with man-made art-forms. Coming onto the boat design itself, it will be more like a scissorred design where in place of the two-hulled catamaran, the boat will have single hull folding back into itself.

When the boat folds itself it will form a perfect loop like structure and when it will be open, the tourists on-board can see the view from diagonally viewing decks. As amazing as it may seem the design is quite intuitive ready for making it past the drawing board, so better watch out.
