Two years back we read about a special dinner cooked on the hot lava of an erupting volcano in Iceland offered by chefs of Holt hotel for a Dutch couple. Now, Black Tomato – a local luxury adventure travel agency in Iceland – is offering a trip inside the heart of the Thrihnukagigur volcano that gives visitors an opportunity to touch the bottom of 120 meters deep crater. Not meant for fainthearted, the Ultimate Volcano Adventure’ package offers tourists a chance to enter the magma chamber of the volcano with the help of an open cable lift.
The agency charges just ISK 37,000 ($294) per person for a single visit and allows bringing camera inside the volcano too.
