Users of the Insider Preview Builds have to go through a constant influx of Insider Preview Builds that release almost every other week (on average).
The purpose of the Insider Preview Builds is to allow developers to use a version of Windows 10 which is not currently accessible to consumers so that people in the field of testing the OS can give Microsoft their feedback regarding a current build which could be host to features which, in turn, will be released to the general public.
While being an Insider can be a tiring job due to going from one experimental OS build after the next, this process is made all the more so difficult with the inclusion of a step which I am sure many Insiders hate doing whenever they get an update or move to a new build.
The aforementioned process is when you are required to sign-in to the desktop every time to complete the update procedure.
Hence, if you had any plans of just going to sleep while leaving an update, then you will definitely face some delay when you turn on your laptop in the morning and have a delay due to the updates finishing up their installation on your desktop after you sign in.
Microsoft released a neat feature in the latest Insider Preview Build 14342 which is cleverly hidden in the Update & Security settings.
While this is anything but a game-changer, it is still something that can shave a few minutes off your boot time when you have just updated your system.
Make Insider Preview Build Installation Easier With Automatic Sign-in On Boot
If you are curious about this new setting in Windows, you simply need to follow the series of steps below and enable this very handy checkbox to save yourself a lot of hassle when the next Insider Preview Build rolls out in the coming week or so.
Start by pressing Windows Key + I and navigating to Update & security.
In the new window, click on Advanced options.
When you do, you will see the following option at the bottom:

You will now check the option of “Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device after an update“.
When you select this option, every time your system goes through an update, be it a cumulative or an Insider Build update, you will no longer have the need to login to Windows and finish the process of installing the update as you have been doing in the past.
You can see that this is an essentially useful feature that has completely flown under the radar, we feel that it should get much more attention since it could really help speed up what is an already tedious process.
