DeLorean DMC-12 has to be one sports car that was way ahead of its time in the early 1980’s and Steven Spielberg’s Back to the future movie made it a sci-fi symbol that nobody could deny. Now only 6,500 DeLorean DMC-12 cars are left in the world and now Romain Jerome looks to create a timepiece that has the DNA of greatest movie automobile legend. The Limited Edition Romain Jerome DeLorean DNA watch will housed inside 46mm wide stainless steel case and having metal salvaged from original DeLorean DMC-12 fitted right inside the bezel of the watch. The tail lights in yellow, red and white color are very well represented on the dial of this watch which will be limited to only 81 pieces.
Main emphasis of watch design is on the theme of DeLorean rather than making it look like one and it is very evident from the brushed steel with black painted sections. But if you have a look at the caseback plate of the watch there you’ll see the DeLorean DMC-12 car engraving with gull winged doors fully open. Honed by Swiss mechanical automatic caliber RJ001-CH movement (self-winding) the watch has 12 hour chronograph which is a bit hard to read but not much of a hassle. With power reserve of 42 hours and water resistance of up to 30 meters, Limited Edition Romain Jerome DeLorean DNA watch truly lives up to its name. The watch will be priced at $15,900 (12,900 Euros) and knowing the fact that DeLorean will come up with the electric powered version of this famous car in 2013, it all looks good with this beginning.
