Kuratas mega robot is operated using smartphone and can fire ball-bearing pellets too

Have a look at humungous and intimidating robot by Suidobashi Heavy Industry and designed by artist Kogoro Kurata was revealed at the Wonder festival in Tokyo today and you’ll surely have jaw-dropping reactions. Called as Kuratas, this 13 feet high, 6000 ball-bearing pellet firing/minute (smile activated twin BB Gating guns make it possible) mega robot weights 4,500 kg making it a definite eye catcher even if you are blind. The most amazing thing about this gigantic robot is that the touch screen interface, master-slave controllers and body gestures courtesy Microsoft Kinect sensor allow a pilot to control robot’s arm using the V-Sido software developed by Wataru Yoshizaki.

Kuratas can be controlled using smartphone too via 3G network connectivity so that it can be operated from a distance. So, amigos let the pictures and the video that follows do the talking and be flabbergasted by this geeky robotic creation.
