Microsoft has recently issued an announcement for those who want to keep free storage in OneDrive, you have to act fast though!
There was a recent instance where Microsoft had issued a statement that they were going to take back the 15GB of free space offered to people who synced a camera roll with their One Drive account. Many people were shocked by the rollback since they had already used the storage.
Additionally, since OneDrive has proven to be of great use in Windows 10, the roll back would have been a big loss to the users who are only now taking advantage of the cloud storage solution.
In a statement issued by an admin on the OneDrive user voice page, he has aptly recognized the many voices of the community and has given people the solution to their problem, you simply need to visit a link and opt in to keep your OneDrive on the 15+15GB plan. The link is in the quote below.
You can read the part of the statement issued by the admin of OneDrive of user voice [OneDrive website] below:
For customers of our free service who have over 5 GB of content and who are directly impacted by the storage change, we will offer one free year of Office 365 Personal, which includes 1 TB of storage. These customers will receive an email with redemption information early next year.
In addition, for our biggest fans who have been loyal advocates for OneDrive, we are adding a new offer that lets you keep your existing 15 GB of free storage when the changes happen next year. If you also have the 15 GB camera roll bonus, you’ll be able to keep that as well. From now until the end of January, you can sign up to keep your storage at the link below.

This is indeed a commendable effort from Microsoft to keep them in the good books of users. So if you do wish to keep free storage in OneDrive, you should act fast before the offer of the link expires on January 31st, 2016! What are your thoughts on the effort by Microsoft?
