If you don’t like Windows 10 bossing you around with certain suggestions all the time, turn off tips to get rid of its overbearing attitude.
This Windows 10 trait is somewhat similar to how cookies work in web browsers. They collect information that tells the OS about our preferences so that it makes things much more easier for us to access. Windows tips may not do all that but what it does is that it supplies us valuable tips which we can access to make our Windows 10 experience much better.
Windows tips help us to get the most out of Windows 10 by suggesting some intuitive settings or features that we haven’t tried before. Together with Transparency, Quiet hours etc., it is one of the exclusive features of Windows 10. They appear in the bottom right corner of our screens just above the Taskbar. This also happens to be the place where Windows notifications also pop up every once in a while.
The idea of Windows tips was to occasionally show up to enlighten users about something that is new or exclusive to Windows 10. This feature has personally helped me explore a lot about Windows 10 that I did not know about previously such as some new OneDrive features that have further tightened its integration into Windows 10 and also, certain customizations that made my UI look beautiful.
Turning Off Tips To Avoid Random Distractions
Despite of all these positives, the tips can be quite annoying or distracting. So turning them off wouldn’t be such a bad idea. Below is the way to turn off tips.
Step 1: Open Settings.
Step 2: Click on System: Display, notifications, apps, power.
Step 3: From the left side menu, click on Notifications and Actions.
Step 4: Under Notifications, turn off the Show me tips about Windows as shown in the image below.
After Step 4, you may exit settings.
When you’re done with this simple tutorial, Windows tips will stop showing up occasionally just to let you know if something new has come up. If you feel like having Windows tips back, just follow the same steps and turn on the Show me tips about Windows. We hope this tutorial has got the job done for you.
