How To Make Taskbar Transparent In Windows 10

If you want to add a touch of elegance to your installation of Windows 10, how about you make taskbar transparent and give a nice glass look to your system?

Windows 10 looks good as it is, but it can still be further improved through further third party tools. We can add a touch of sophistication to the taskbar by making it transparent with the help of the registry editor. It would go pretty well with the Aero Glass tool.

We have dived into the registry editor several times, this time will also be just as easy as long as you follow the instructed pathway and the series of steps outlined below.

This is a handy tweak to allow users further visual gain in Windows with little to effect on the overall performance of the OS.

To start the trick, Press Windows Key + S or R and search for regedit.

When you have registry editor open, navigate to the following directory, one by one.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAdvanced

Once you reach the Advanced branch, right-click anywhere in the region, click on New and chooses DWORD (32-Bit Value).

You will see a new entry, which by default will be named “New Value #1” you will right-click on this entry, choose rename and change the name to UseOLEDTaskbarTransparency.

When you have done so, double click the entry and in the Value Data box, enter the number 1, followed by clicking on OK.

How to enable the make taskbar transparent tweak

Now, go on an empty spot on your desktop, right-click anywhere and click on Personalize.

Once in the new window, look for the Colors tab and toggle the Make Start, taskbar, and action center transparent.

Once you enable it, you will see the difference right away, and you can further mix and match to your preference in setting up the taskbar to your liking!

If you wish to undo the above, simply delete the UseOLEDTaskbarTransparency entry or download the attached registry file [Jumpshare] and simply run it.
