How To Export Edge Favorites To Chrome & Firefox

After the recent November update, the process to export Edge favorites has changed significantly. Find out how to export your favorites from Edge to Chrome / Firefox in our guide below.

Microsoft Edge is undoubtedly a great browser, but a lack of extensions support is what truly brings it down. If you have been a loyal Edge user and are now looking for a way to export Edge favorites to another browser on Windows 10, you can follow the steps below to do so.

STEP 1:

Download and install the following attached rar file [Jumpshare link] when you have done so, extract the contents to a location of your choosing. (We would like to applaud the efforts of emmet-gray for making this software).

STEP 2:

When you extract the contents of the rar file, locate the ‘Edge export.exe’ file in the folder and run it. By default, you will see the following directory in location, your username is located between Users and OneDrive as you can see in the image below, mine is rizwa.

You can choose to change the location of “Location of output file” to an easier location such as your desktop, but ultimately, this is where you will find your bookmark.html file.

You will enter this username in the “User’s Favorites to Export

Enter your username in the top most box.

Do keep in mind that by default, the file type at the end of the “Location of output file” is .htm, you have add an L at the end of it and make the extension into .html, as shown in the image above.

STEP 3:

When you click on “Export” after doing STEP 2, you will see the following prompt of “Done!“, now you have to navigate yourself to the directory of the location and find your bookmark.html file.

Now that we have the bookmark.html file in hand, we will now break this guide into how to import this file into Chrome and Firefox.
