Do you know that eyes muscles have the fastest reflexes in our body and we use those reflexes sub-consciously while blinking to lubricate the eyes in mere 100-400 milliseconds? Now an intuitive pair of glasses designed by technology buff Michal Kohut, mimic that very function to make a person’s blink into shared experience. Called as the “0, 1” these glasses turn off the lights of a room as the wearer blinks the eyes and for the person wearing these glasses he/she won’t even notice the lights turning off.
Although the trick seems simple but it was hard to emulate because the eyes blink so fast and that is the reason why Michal used a sensor that reads reflections from the eye and whenever there is a rapid change the microprocessor interprets it as an eye blink and turns off the lights until they are open again. For an onlooker this is a fascinating experience as the lights turn off and on so rapidly.
