FoldaRap 3D printer is foldable and small enough to carry around anywhere

This is FoldaRap an open source mobile 3D printer which is so portable that it can be carried around in a small case courtesy its foldable property making it ideal for long trips. Designed by Emmanuel Gilloz who is a designer-geek-idealist, this project took him 5-7 months to bring into physical reality and the funding amount was well crossed on Ulule platform to make it a reality. With 3D printing becoming ever so popular with designers and manufacturing processes, FoldaRap brings the otherwise bulky 3D printers to the common masses with its compact form factor.

FoldaRap comes with its own case and once folded you can easily put it inside and carry anywhere you want to. The 3D printer is made from robust aluminium extrusions and all the electronics are well concealed in the base with connectivity option via USB. It works with all open-source software programs capable of running on Windows, Mac or Linux PC and also uses the most common 3D printing formats like STL, AMF and OBJ.
