Laptops usually come with a bunch of extra languages in Windows 10. If you have additional unnecessary languages installed in yours, find out how to delete extra languages and free up some space.
There are several OEM laptops or systems that come pre-installed with a variety of language packs. If you are one who isn’t planning on using any of these languages any time soon, and also wants to get rid of the language icon in the taskbar, you’ve come to the right place!
Windows 10 is easily the most linguistically diverse OS from Microsoft, but if you are annoyed by the extra set of languages plaguing your enjoyment of the OS you will be glad to know there is a way to get rid of them and get yourself down to a single language.
Steps To Delete Extra Languages In Windows 10
STEP 1:
To begin with, Press Windows Key + S and search for “add a language”
STEP 2:
Next, You will see a selection of languages if you do have multiple languages installed on your system, choose the one which you want to delete and click on “remove”
Once you are done with the above, you can repeat the same steps to remove any number of languages you wish, but of course you have to appoint a default language by clicking on the language of your choosing and clicking on “set as default“.
While the need for additional languages is completely optional and comes to use at one point of time or the other, especially at the time of using your native language the way I have demonstrated.
Do keep in mind that there are is a significantly large number of languages available for you to use, and these languages can be used in combination with the on-screen keyboard of Windows 10 to type in your native language.
It is however very time consuming, but well worth the effort if you are looking to add a unique touch to your writings without having to do it by hand.
If you do delete extra languages, it also gives you time to easily switch between the languages when you do wish to do the aforementioned.
We will cover how to add further languages and their other details in a future guide, but for now, you can enjoy one less icon in your taskbar which might have been bothering you.
