Change Notification Display Time In Windows 10

One of the many things that have happened to everyone is reading a notification and it disappearing midway. If you’re one of them, change notification display time in Windows 10.

One of the things I really admire about Windows is how you can change every small detail about its UI as well as its functionality. Whether its disabling Start menu’s color or setting up a screen saver, in Windows almost anything is possible.

Windows 8 saw the induction of the Windows Store for the first time in the desktop OS. With the Virtual Desktops, Cortana and Microsoft Edge, Windows Store was labelled as one of the milestone achievements of Microsoft in Windows. Windows 10 has seen many changes in its UI but Windows Store has somewhat stayed the same.

Although the inclusion of Windows Store is a hallmark Windows feature, like most other new additions, it has received a mixed reception as well. The greatest emphasis has been laid on the Store not having a vast variety of apps. I do agree to that as Windows Store does lack in some nice apps that we see in Android and iOS.

That being said, the Windows Store is nicely integrated into Windows 10. While the store may be the same, notifications from its apps and other built in Windows apps are much more accessible to us. The previous builds simply displayed notifications on the bottom right corner of your screen. Not only does Windows 10 do this, it also displays notifications on Start menu as well.

Most of the times, reading the notifications takes a bit longer then the default time set in Windows 10. If you feel the same, you can change notification display time through the steps below.

Step 1: Open Settings.

Step 2: Click on Ease of Access: Narrator, magnifier, high contrast.

Step 3: Click on Other Options.

Step 4: Click on the drop down menu, below Show notifications for.

Step 5: Select the time you wish the notifications should stay visible as shown in the image below.

For the next time, you can finally read it with peace and you won’t have to worry about the notification disappearing midway.
