Change Color Of Taskbar In Windows 10

If you have a wallpaper with which the color of the Taskbar isn’t blending in well, just follow the simple procedure to change color of Taskbar in Windows 10.

Captivating, beautiful and eye catching. These are the three words that immediately popped into my mind when I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1. I said to myself: “Boy the new UI is flashy” and I was extremely thankful to Microsoft developers about the fact that finally, the Windows button is now being used in a better way. I really liked how the search bar has been integrated into the Taskbar and the display seemed a little bit well rounded. Although while using some apps, I did encounter blurry displays but overall, I genuinely liked how Windows 10 has been set out. In this article, we’ll be focusing more on the Taskbar.

In Windows 8/8.1, the Taskbar was much like in Windows 7. It could hold shortcuts, battery and WiFi icons, the start button etc. but one thing that was different was its smart ability to change color in accordance with your background wallpaper. Such accessibility has also been offered in Windows 10. The Taskbar is by default black in color and will change color that is in context with your wallpaper provided that you have selected that option in your Settings. While black may look good with every color, you can change color of Taskbar according to your needs through the following series of steps.

First, press ‘Windows+Q’ or ‘Windows+S’ to access Windows Search. Then open Settings app. Then, click on ‘Personalization: background, lock screens, colors’. From the resulting window, click on Colors’ in the left side menu. Then, if you have selected the ‘Automatically pick an accent color from my background’ your UI will look something like this, not allowing you the option to choose any color of your choice.

To be able to select the color of your choice, deselect the ‘Automatically pick an accent color from my background’ option and select the color you want from the large options of colors that would now be visible to you as shown in the image below. This way you can change color of Taskbar.
