Can You Remove Apps From Windows Store ‘Your Apps’?

There is currently a mixed response when it comes to the question of whether you can remove apps from Windows Store. Let’s put it to rest, once and for all.

There are many users who have been using the Windows Store since Windows 8/8.1 and Windows Phones, while many of us have made regrettable purchases that we wish to otherwise remove from the store purchase history, it is with great regret that I inform you, that you can’t rid yourself of your install past at all (for the moment at least).

To help put this theory to rest once and for all, I took it upon myself to remove my old HTC Radar from my devices history. Since my beloved HTC Radar met an untimely demise due to a severe flood in 2013, the device had been defunct for me for a long time. Since I no longer plan on purchasing a Windows Phone and I didn’t have any paid apps on my purchase history, I thought there is no harm in trying out the solution posted below:

A proposed "solution" to remove apps from windows store

From SuperUser.

To begin with, I went to the following link [Microsoft Devices] and deleted my HTC Radar from my devices:

Deleting HTC Radar

Even after removing the device, you can see that I still have Windows Phones games showing up in my Apps in the Windows Store purchase history:

The ! items are Windows Phone apps.

As you can see, Kik Messenger, xpressFIVE, 2048 and Unroll it are unable to install due to the following error:

The error explained

As you can see, there is currently no definitive way to delete your purchase history or otherwise from the Windows Store, and do not be misled by suggestions of deleting your device, there is now evidence to support that the existence of a device plays no role whatsoever in the presence of an app in your purchase history.

We hope that Microsoft considers this problem and proposes a solution for us to remove apps from Windows Store. I know I want to get rid of certain games in my history.
