Today we will look into how to add recycle bin to taskbar for the sake of convenience.
Most people are adjusted to accessing the recycle bin from the desktop to clear it, but there is a neat little trick that will let you open your recycle bin right from the task bar and hence emptying it quickly. If you’re interested, you can also have a look at on how to Use Google with Cortana In Windows 10.
This is especially useful for people who work with multiple windows at once and don’t want to go through a clutter to reach the desktop. If you feel like one of these people, feel free to use this guide to help better your life!
The guide is relatively simple and easy to follow. Follow the steps below to accordingly get this tweak working for you!
STEP 1:
Right click on your desktop, New and Shortcut.
STEP 2:
Once you have done so, enter the following line in the “Location of the item”
explorer.exe shell:recyclebinfolder
STEP 3:
And lastly, give your shortcut a name. I named mine “recycle-bin”
STEP 4:
Find the following recycle bin icon on your desktop. It will have the following icon and the name you gave it.
STEP 5:
Right click on your newly made icon and select Properties.
STEP 6:
Once you have Properties open, click on Change Icon.
STEP 7:
In the proceeding box, type imageres.dll and click OK.
STEP 8:
Now, all you have to do is pick out the recycle bin icon or any other icon of your choice that you wish to use. You are free to Click OK and be done.
STEP 9:
Lastly, you will notice the icon has changed. Now simply drag and drop the icon to your desktop and you are done!
STEP 10:
Lastly, this is what the finished icon will look like. When you click on it, you will be able to open the bin and empty it out manually, but sadly you won’t have the ability of right clicking and emptying the recycle bin manually.
While the shortcut is not really a fully functioning icon, it still is a convenience to those who don’t have time to minimize all your windows to reach the recycle bin.
