KABUTOM RX-03 six legged beetle rhinoceros robot is one amazing creation

Putting eleven years into your passion takes patience and perseverance with a strong belief that one day your dreams will come to life. Hitoshi Takahshi, a 60 year old Japanese engineer put these eleven years of his life in developing a robot shaped like a rhinoceros beetle called KABUTOM RX-03 which is an amazing 11 meters long and 17 ton in weight. In the last few years we have some very impressive robots but this one is a league apart as it goes on performing at events all over Japan since 2008 with the ability to walk around on its six legs with least hassle.

Now you would ask on question how this gigantic mechanical robotic beast manages to carry around its heavy body with such ease? Well, it has six separate diesel powered legs and supporting wheels which push it forward in the right direction supporting the weight as it goes. As you can see from the video below, this humongous robot with a beetle like movement rides the tarmac with a smooth motion just like a six legged beetle would do. So just sit back and enjoy the video that follows after some pictures of the amazing KABUTOM RX-03 robot.
