Hang-on your boots as Black Kilo snowshoes with carbon fiber make a thumping statement

Although winters are almost on the offset but I can’t help but gear you up for the next winters as Crescent Moon launched the carbon fiber Black Kilo racing snowshoe. Deemed as the lightest snowshoe in the market weighing at 2.2 pounds for one shoe, Black Kilo, is one marvel in snowshoe design. According to the designers this shoe is made from composite carbon fiber frame and deck and beats its nearest competitors for light weight credentials by a long way.

Carbon fiber being popular for having a good track record for performance in cold and an extreme environment (for example rocket ships, submarines and airplanes) is a very good application when it comes to snow shoes. But the main challenge in shoe design was to apply the carbon fiber technology into shock and abrasion characteristics that require composition of materials for elasticity and endurance. So hang on your boots as Black Kilo will be up for sale in Fall 2012 or Winter 2013 with a price range of $399.
