For example if you don’t smile in front of your refrigerator or give a very fake smile it will be difficult to open whereas if there is a bring rise smile it will open smoothly. Use of Happiness Counter in other appliances and gadgets like smartphones will also be a possibility encouraging smiles even more.

This type of device encourages the user to use their home appliances or other gadgets with passion and create a kind of surrogate bond with your appliances. Happiness Counter which uses face recognition technology of Sony Corporation apparently has been awarded the Best 100 Good Design Award 2012. However if you are in a really bad mood because of something and you want to have a can of beer, the last thing you want is the refrigerator door not opening just because you are not smiling. But otherwise it is a very good device and we can expect it to come integrated with home appliances in the coming future.
