FLIR GF306 detects dangerous gas leaks from safe distance

FLIR has launched portable GF306 gas detection camera that identifies gas leaks without the traditional means of de-energizing high-voltage equipment or halting the operation completely until the gas leak issue is resolved. With the ability to detect gas leaks from a considerable distance using the cooled Quantum Well Infrared Photodetector (QWIP), and that too for a large area pinpointing the leak, it is full-proof method for any such problem. FLIR GF306 is very sensitive to Sulphur Hexafluoride (has 24,000 times more dangerous to the environment) which is used in many industrial applications, and comes in handy for any such situation. FLIR GF306 can be employed in detection of inorganic and organic gases that are dangerous to operators even at low levels of leak.

The portable camera can also visualize temperature range from -40 to +500 degree Celsius and comes in fixed 14.5 degree lens or fixed 24 degree lens option. FLIR GF306 can detect a wide range of gases including Acetic acid, Ammonia, Ethylene, Hydrazine, Methyl Ethyl Ketone, etc. Have a look at the video below to learn more on how FLIR GF306 performs in real life situation.
