Here’s a nice trick to add multiple calendars in Windows 10.
Windows 8 was the first time the Windows Store was seen on Window’s desktop version. Before this, it was only available on Windows Phone OS. It contains hundreds of thousands of apps which we can download for our daily usage but the apps that come in built in with Windows are known as the universal apps.
Universal apps are so called because they are available on both the desktop and Windows phone OS. Some of the universal apps are used by us more frequently such as the mail app, alarms and clock etc. Others, not so much such as ActionNote etc. If you don’t like some of the universal apps and think they’re only eating up space on your PC, you can uninstall them.
The calendar app is another universal app. It is a modern day app with many new and old features. To begin with, as is the case with most other Windows 10 apps, it has a beautiful interface which makes using this app even more wonderful.
The left side of the app shows a miniature version of your calendar and some customization options. The right side shows a larger view of the calendar which also views any events or reminders that you may have set up for a particular day. Don’t be alarmed if you see the black color of my calendar as most probably, yours will be white by default as it supports two different themes.
Besides toggling between themes, you can also add multiple calendars to your calendar app. This is a very handy feature indeed particularly for users who live in places that follow other calendars as well. The app lets you add another calendar to the default Gregorian calender. Follow the steps below to do that.
Step 1: Click on the settings icon in the bottom left part of the app.
Step 2: Click on Calendar settings from the menu that appears.
Step 3: Scroll down and check the box that says Enable written below Alternate Calendars.
Step 4: From the drop down menu, select the calendar of your choice as shown in the image below.
That’s it. After you’re done, your calendar should look something like this.
