Notification sounds are meant to inform us of something instantaneously. If they annoy you, you can disable app notification sound to stop them from poking you.
Notifications are the small pop ups that occasionally become visible informing you of some latest event or something that is happening with your computer or online life. It can be a warning telling you that something isn’t working properly or it can be a notification from an app that you have subscribed yourself to.
Notifications in Windows 10 is not something very old. In fact, its first appearance came in Windows 8. We did see some smaller and unattractive variants of it in Windows 7 and Windows XP but Windows 8 is when they were embedded more smoothly into the OS.
That being said, Windows 10 does bring users a lot more control over what they can do with their notifications. You can enable a full battery notification to get a notification from Windows telling you that your battery is full, change notification display time so that they stay a little bit longer on your screen so that you can finish reading them easily and also enable or disable mail app notifications among many other customizations. For all their pros, notifications can be a nuisance at times as well. It is very annoying to consistently hear that recurring noise again and again. I’ve even being a victim of my mobile phone constantly beeping with text notifications that have made my parents go loco sometimes. So, in events like these, it will be a nice idea to disable app notifications to maintain a low profile.
Steps to disable app notification sound
Step 1: Open Settings App.
Step 2: Click on System: Display, notifications, apps, power.
Step 3: In the left side menu, click on Notifications and actions.
Step 4: Scroll down to find Show notifications from these apps.
Step 5: Click on the app you wish to disable its notification sound as I did for Action Note as shown in the image below.
Step 6: From the resulting menu, turn off Play a sound when a notification arrives as shown in the image below.
