Microsoft’s latest insider build 14267 was released recently bringing some wholesome changes to Windows 10. Microsoft Edge received some special treatment as you can now optionally have Edge ask you for the download location each time you download something off the Internet.

The Insider build 14267 is the latest software increment to Windows 10’s fast ring users. While previous Insider builds have been mostly about bugfixes and performance improvements have continued to trickle, the Insider build 14267 has brought some noticeable changes to Windows 10.

Microsoft Edge has taken its place as Windows’s premier Internet browser. The Internet Explorer has vanished into the background, as Microsoft has only kept it around for legacy support purposes. Edge is the way forward!

Insider build 14267 has brought some new features to the plate. Microsoft Edge seems to be the greatest beneficiary of the latest Windows 10 upgrade with a number of noticeable features added to its arsenal. This clearly highlights the ambitions of Microsoft into making Edge not only stand toe to toe with Chrome and Firefox but, eventually usurp them as the world’s most used browser.

One of the newer features 14267 has instilled into Microsoft Edge is the ability to specify the folder where you wish to download a file, each time you download something. The default behavior is to save everything to the Downloads folder; you can change that with this new option.

It’s a fantastic feature which makes organizing your files easier as you can save different files in your desired locations directly before you download them.

Now this is a feature no other browser has to date. Follow the steps below to enable selecting a download location for every downloaded file in Windows 10.

Step 2: Click on the more actions button in the top right corner.

Step 3: Click on Settings.

Step 4: Look for the download location prompt option and toggle it on.
