A new OS comes with its own set of problems and bugs. While Windows 10 may not be the newest, a lot of new pestering bugs do show up once in a while. One of them is Windows 10 installing the same update again and again. This fix shows how you can get rid of the issue.
A Buggy OS
Six months ago, Windows 10 made way into my laptop. I was pretty excited with the prospect of working week in week out with Microsoft’s latest OS and my expectations were sky high. Windows 10 might be the most prettiest of the lot but unfortunately it is plagued by bugs and one of them is it recursively installing the same update over and over again.
Windows 10 has continuously faced problems with its updates regime. Many apps do not get updated correctly while some universal apps have built-in errors such as the well documented “this app can’t open” error. Fortunately, the bugs-plagued OS hasn’t received any major injuries to date but it is extremely annoying to see these bugs pop up once in a while. Though, Microsoft is trying its best to get rid of these for good but as of now, they still persist and show no signs of going away anytime soon.
How To Stop Installing The Same Updates Again & Again
The same update getting installed over and over again in Windows 10 is one of the latest known errors reported faced by users in different parts of the world. We don’t exactly know the cause behind this issue but it is probably due to some internal instruction triggering the update process in a loop. Fortunately, we have the solution to this error and it is a simple one. The steps to ensure Windows doesn’t keep installing the same updates is:
Step 1: Open Control Panel.
Step 2: Click on Programs.
Step 3: Click on Programs and features.
Step 4: From the list of displayed programs, look for all the programs that contain Visual C++ 2012 as shown in the image below.
Step 5: Now one by one, right click on each of them and click Repair.
Step 6: After you’re done, Restart your computer.
If this doesn’t work, consider using the troubleshooting wizard from Windows Update in Control Panel.
That’s just about everything you need to do to get rid of this annoyance. If it helped, do let us know in the comments below. Meanwhile, we’ll continue on why does this happen in the first place and will let you guys know as soon as we reach a conclusion.
