It’s our selected choice of future mobility and so it will be for every geek out there. The recently showcased Uni-Cub, hands free personal mobility device, is what I am talking about. Steered by turning the body from side-to-side, this Honda’s new robotic innovation was displayed by Mamoru Mori, former astronaut and executive director of National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in Tokyo.
The Uni-Cub comprising of one main wheel and one small wheel at the back for all circular movements, with a comfortable seat, may look freaky at first, but when zipped around with body moments, the robotic vehicle seems like a floating car seat out of a sci-fi flick. It takes time to get used to riding the Uni-Cub – which requires the rider to lean forward to go straight; and lean right, or left to go right or left respectively. There is no detail on the pricing and Honda is reported to have no plans to commercialize the Uni-Cub anytime soon.
