Snapchat has introduced a funky new feature which allows you to add 3D emoji stickers on top of moving objects in videos. We discuss how to use this in a step-by-step guide.
The new “3D stickers” feature was released on iPhone just a couple days ago, while Android users started using it about two weeks prior. It’s just another fun way to make your videos/photos stand out; what makes these new pinned emojis cooler than standard ones is the fact that they automatically move around your video after tracking an object in it. You can see them in action below:

Steps To Add 3D Stickers In Snapchat Videos On iPhone & Android
So how do you start using these 3D stickers? How does one pin emojis in Snapchat so they move along with moving objects in your videos? Follow the steps below:
Step 1: Open up Snapchat
Step 2: Go ahead and record a video snap.
Step 3: Tap on the sticker icon that’s on the top edge of the screen. It’s to the left of the “T” button.
Step 4: Place the sticker on an object of interest video. You can of course resize the emoji with a pinch to zoom gesture. You can also rotate it. In the example below, I placed a heart emoji or sticker on my sleeve. There’s one more step.
Step 5: Now, you need to hold and pin the emoji. Once you do so, Snapchat will take a moment to analyze the video – by showing a spinning indicator – and pin the sticker to the moving object.
That’s it – you’ve added a 3D sticker to your video! Go ahead and share it as a Story to impress your friends. Whoever uses the latest Snapchat feature first tends to get brownie points in their circle.
If you aren’t satisfied with the result, you can drag the emoji to the trash icon and start again from Step 3.
Please ensure you’re on the latest version of Snapchat. Android users can update it from the Play Store app, while iPhone users will need to go to the App Store app. Hopefully you use automatic updates so you’ll automatically have 3D stickers.
Snapchat is one of my favorite social apps on my phone. It wouldn’t entirely inaccurate to say I use it about the same as I use Facebook. I love it because a) it’s so fun to use b) it’s nice to get a sneak peak into your friend’s daily lives (as opposed to the fabricated lives they lead on Facebook) and c) it’s less serious, less “judgmental” – you post whatever you like without fear of not getting enough likes or comments. People just view your snap photos or videos, and they only see it for 24 hours max.
