Real life size Goodyear Lego truck model to be showcased at 2012 IAA Commercial Vehicle show

As a part of the ongoing 2012 IAA Commercial Vehicle show in Hanover, Germany, Goodyear has made 1:1 scale futuristic Lego truck made just from Lego bricks. The Lego truck is equivalent to the real thing in size measuring 3.5 metres long and 2.5 meters high with a total weight of 740 kg which apparently makes it the largest Lego model in the world. Made from about 250,000 Lego bricks and almost 410 man hours put into the construction of the truck made it a professionally build Lego model with attention to detail to the last bit. Showing off the Goodyear Marathon LHSII+ tires to the world the Lego truck will be up for auction on eBay from 19-29 October 2012 and the raised amount will be donated to DocStop which offers professional drivers medical care. The project is backed up by famous entertainer German Jürgen Drews, known as the ‘King of Mallorca’ who during the trade fair IAA commercial vehicles, trucks autographed the LEGO booth Goodyear.
According to Rupert Kohaupt, Director Commercial Tires, Goodyear Tires in Germany:

“We very consciously decided to support Doc Stop with this auction. The transport industry’s greatest asset are the drivers, who make sure that goods get from A to B and arrive on time every day. Unfortunately medical care is not always guaranteed on the road, especially when a driver travels abroad. Thanks to DocStop, professional drivers now have a contact point through which they can get medical help. We are of course very happy to support this organisation,”
