Windows has a few useful universal apps such as Weather, Alarm, Mail, etc. which come in handy. If you use them often, there is a way to access them from the desktop instead of the start menu.
Windows have developed a wide numbers of apps which have proved very useful. Weather, Mail & Calendar, and Store which helps install many other apps which Windows can use. Mail allows integration of multiple mail accounts. Weather synchronizes the weather based on your location and displays it even in your home screen, before logging in.
There are two ways you can carry this out, we will illustrate both techniques for you for convenience.
Drag & Drop Desktop Shortcut For Universal Apps From Start Menu
STEP 1
Drop and drag the apps from the main menu, it’s as simple as that!
If you can’t find the apps immediately on the start menu, simply click on the “All Apps” option and you can find the app listing you want to drag into your desktop.
Access All Apps From Run
STEP 1
Press Windows Key + R. Type shell:AppsFolder on the textbox besides Open.
STEP 2
Here are the list of the Apps in the File Explorer. You can simply drag these to the desktop or right click on the app and select “create shortcut” which also creates a shortcut in the desktop.
The following two methods will allow you to create shortcuts on the apps you want. This applies to all Windows apps even the ones you installed yourself. You can organize them in folders, like how you do on your phone.
However, there is no built-in app that allows you to access apps through folders without opening them. A recommended app is Fences which can be installed from the internet. This helps you to create transparent folders which allows you to organize and access your folders.
