Tired of having to manually put documents to OneDrive time and time again? Have it done automatically by enabling auto save documents to OneDrive in Windows 10.
Has anyone seen the Imitation Game? If yes then you’ll know exactly how much technology has transformed in the last half a century or so. Remember the huge computing machine Alan Turing built to decode the Enigma of the German Nazi’s so that millions of lives could be saved in the World War 2? Now, that machine could be 5 times smaller and one hundred times faster due to the schematics we have available with us nowadays.
Whatever the human mind has thought about achieving, it has done so after years of work and failure. The Wright Brothers wanted to fly like a bird and so they did after numerous attempts. Thomas Edison invented the light bulb after a thousand or so tries. These are the revolutionaries that instead of crumbling under hardship and saying:”Why me?”, stood up to them and said to them: “Try me”.
Like these inventions, people wanted to automatically save files to a certain location so that they and anyone else from a thousand miles apart could access them without having to access the computer those files were created on. The idea of cloud storage took birth. Some say it originated as early as 1977 but not until the 21st century did we get to know about any noteworthy cloud storage.
That said, cloud computing accelerated and now we have Microsoft’s very own OneDrive. It is integrated very well into the new OS and subsequently removes the need for its users to access other cloud storage apps for their use. To further automate its working, you can auto save documents to OneDrive through the simple steps mentioned below.
Step 1: Right click on the OneDrive icon in the Taskbar.
Step 2: Click on Settings.
Step 3: Click on the Auto Save tab.
Step 4: From the dropout menu in front of Documents or Pictures, select to save files to This PC only or to OneDrive as shown in the image below.
When you’re done with this, you won’t have to worry about manually saving your documents to OneDrive anymore and your data will be secured in case of potential mishaps.
