Here’s a tidy trick to disable app notifications on lock screen in Windows 10.
Your lock screen refers to the screen that shows up before you sign in or lock your computer. It also shows up when you’ve signed out of a user account or your computer has been unused for a minute or so. The lock screen is a relatively new feature considering the history of Windows as it has only been recently announced in Windows 8. Before it, Windows used to work with the sign in screen only.
Together with a new layout for jump lists, re-sizable thumbnails and Dark mode, lock screen is one of those graphical features that add gloss to Windows 10’s UI. One can simply deduce that Microsoft developers spared no mercy, when it comes to its presentation, just by looking how beautifully the new OS has been setup.
Personally speaking, the lock screen looks really good specially when we compare it to the sign in screen of Windows 7 and its predecessors. Many a times during a day you need to take a mini break or leave your work just to attend something else. That is where the lock screen looks much better than the previously used sign in screen.
Apart from the lock screen wallpaper, it also supports displaying the date and time which can be set in a language of your choice. Apart from these customary features, it also displays app notifications. This serves to quickly inform us of any notifications we are interested in even when the computer is locked. However, if you think that it is something that you do not need, disable app notifications on lock screen through the following steps.
Four Step Tutorial To Remove App Notifications
Step 1: Open Settings.
Step 2: Click on System: Display, notifications, apps, power.
Step 3: From the left side menu, click on Notifications and actions.
Step 4: From the list of options under Notifications, turn off the Show notifications on lock screen as shown in the image below.
After this step, you may exit settings.
