How To Turn On Slide Down To Shutdown In Windows 10

To turn off a Windows Phone, first you press the power button and then simply swipe down. If you feel like doing that with your PC, first you’ll have to turn on the slide down to shutdown feature. We’ll tell you how to do that.

Windows 10 is a goldmine of hidden features. Not everything in it is available directly at the surface. For many of its nicest features like the hidden GodMode and the hidden Windows 10 dark theme you have to dig deep. To help you with this technical excavation, Windows 10 provides a companion called the registry editor.

The Registry Editor or Regedit is what makes Windows life, for people like me, much more adventurous. The registry can be used to tweak anything, anytime. However, playing with the registry is like living on the edge but it’s all the more worth it when you get to see the awesome hidden features it enables. This post covers one such hidden feature, the slide down to shutdown feature. Fortunately, you won’t be needing registry to enable it. A shovel perhaps?

This feature is more synonymous with people who use Windows Phones but we’re bringing it to the desktop. In fact, it is already present inside your computer. You just need to find it and as mentioned earlier, excavate it and bring it back to the surface to enable it.

This feature will absolutely melt Surface Pro users or users who own touchscreen capability Windows 10 devices. However, for those without touchscreen capability, it will work just as fine with your mouse.
