Reinstall network drivers in Windows 10 in one click

If you aren’t familiar with networking protocols or otherwise fixing network issues with your internet usage, this tip could be useful to you. We’ll show you how to quickly reset and reinstall all network adapter drivers in one click on your Windows 10 PC.

Networking problems always perplex me. However, one seemingly dumb but effective solution I’ve found that works regularly is a quick reinstall of my Windows 10 network drivers.

If you have ever found yourself in a similar position, Windows 10 has just the solution for you. No need to identify, download, and keep your latest drivers for your local adapters (WiFi / Ethernet) on local storage!

Network Reset in Windows 10

A stealthy new feature in the Anniversary Update has an option to “Network Reset”. If you wish to access the setting it is a rudimentary process which won’t take much time.

Be advised, this isn’t something you should do just for experimenting. This option should be your last resort when your adapters or related network devices give up on you.

Step 1: You must first option settings by Windows Key + S and search for Settings, but you can open it directly with the help of Windows Key + I.

Step 2: When you have the window open, navigate to Network & the Internet.

Step 3: You will now be on the Status tab. When you are in here, scroll to the very bottom to find the option of Network Reset.

It is highly advised you read the warning carefully before carrying out the operation and confirming the dialogue box that follows.

If you are still hesitant about the action, then it’s best to keep a tech-savvy friend on speed dial to your rescue.

This option will delete, reinstall and refresh all the network settings on your adapters, so any other configurations you had in terms of IP address, DNS etc. will all be undone.

It is highly recommended you still have backups for the latest versions of your network drivers ready to install, in case things go awry.
